SELECTIVE LASER SINTERING ( SLS ) 3D printers utilize CO2 laser and a thermoplastic polymer powder to create parts. due to the high power, the laser moves along a “point-to-point” pattern, solidifying the entire cross-sectional area of a layer. After the layer is complete, the re-coater deposits a replacement layer of powder and therefore the build platform moves down one layer tall. The method is then repeated until the part is complete.
